retrenchment

    retrenchment (re⋅trench⋅ment) - the act of retrenching; a cutting down or off, as by the reduction of expenses.

it was a suprise for all of us that my office needs to cut down its number of employees because of the recession in the US. but what struck us the most is that the management didnt gave us any warning signs and such. in fact, the news came just after the management gave us our christmas bonus.

among those who were affected were my seatmate and the other one is my former team mate. the two became close to me and i’m still shocked from their sudden departure. those two were close to my hearts…

im still concerned about their fate after the company let them go… i just hope that they were still ok after what happened to them… but i know that those two were strong, and so i pray for them… i hope that they will overcome this… 

on the other hand, my immediate boss renren told me that i was “almost included” in the chopping block because of my attendance (tardiness actually)but what saved me from being included in the list of the people who fired from the office is my work performance. the incident actually is a wake-up call for me, and it makes me realize everything i did in this very humble office…

and it makes me realize… i need to do my job very well…and also to wake up very early for work…

and that’s what im intended to do…
